What a difference a year makes.....

Rodney was organizing some CD in his office and he found a cd I'm so glad to know I have.....They have some very special pictures.

This is my grandma.....

This is just one year and 3 month before she left this earth.   We spent the day at the American Rose Center just out side of Shreveport.  She loved flowers!  She love us, all of us.  She was what held the Soto family together.  She is very, very much missed by her children and her grand children.   I'm so glad she was able to know my child, her first great grand child.

I'll just leave you with a few more pictures of Matilde Soto......

The life of a Teenager

So Ken gets ready for church this morning and her plan is to driver herself this morning because she goes before we do.......and this is what she encounters.....

It turns out Kenneth and Ethan struck our house last night. I'm glad it was just the car and not the house.

It was really quite funny. So needless to say, she called him and asked him to come get her.

It was a good laugh on this beautiful Sunday morning!

Ray o' Sunshine

Well, it's official, I'm old! Yesterday my lil' ray o' sunshine drover herself to school. Wow, can she really be about to turn 17??? How did that happen? This is a bitter sweet time for me, especially because I have friends that have had babies recently. Holding their new little ones reminds me so much of holding my little one 17 years ago. Man, I remember her sweet little face. She was such a little snuggler. That kid was my side kick for so long and now as she grows up and starts spreading her wings of freedom I just pray she continues to make wise choices because I'm not with her to guide her all the time. She's a great kid, I'm so fortunate....well blessed really. I've been asked many times "why we didn't have more kids?" The answer is really simple....it just wasn't in Gods plan for us, and that's ok. I'm very proud of her!

New Years

What a fun night! Hanging out at home with friends and kids playing cranium. The impromptu gathering was filled with many laughs and hugs and kisses at mid night! They also broke out the wii dance game.....that led to some laughs.

Oh my, she really got into it!
Amy, I say we make a pack to get together at least once a month. It's a shame we didn't do it enough during 2011. What do you say!???

I'm glad to see 2011 end and will take 2012 as a start to new beginnings. Not that 2011 was terrible, but maybe in 2012 we won't see broken bones or knee surgeries. The only thing sad about 2012 is Keni will become a senior in a few short months. I'm beginning to learn how to cope without my favorite side kick. She's gotten car keys and she's running the highways. She's begun to fill out applications. Hope she'll find something she likes cause she'll have to help pay for her gas.

Anyway, Happy New years to all!!! I'll leave you with the last 2 pictures taken in 2011.
