What a great family day. We don't get many of those......but we had fun. We went to the Movie Tavern to watch Transformers and then we went to Wal*Mart. I know, it doesn't sound like all that, but it was. It's been a while since we've all done something together, it was nice to have Rodney with us. These pictures were taken today just as we were leaving the house. Aren't they so cute!
Yesterday morning we went to Six Flags with the intention of spending the day riding rides and then going to the Boys like girls concert, but best intentions can always be changed. It was so HOT!!!! We went to Six Flags, got our concert tickets, rode one ride and left!!! We went to eat and then went home and took naps. After our naps we went back to Six Flags at 630. The concerts started at 7pm. There were 2 opening bands that I had never heard of, but were pretty good. Boys like Girls took the stage at nearly 9pm. They were fabulous!!! We had really great seats by one of the runners. It was like having front row seats for part of the show. I got great pictures. These are posted on the side bar.

It funny that we always remember where we were when........ For instance, I know Mom has said she remembers where she was when JFK was assasinated, or when Elvis died.
Yesterday was a similar day for me. Two huge icons passed away on the same day, and in years to come I may not remember the specific date, but I will always remember who I was with and what we were doing the day Michael Jackson and Farah Fawcett died. Jamie and I took the kids to Pepe Le Potter to paint pottery. It was so much fun, well for the adults it was any way. At that time we already knew about the passing of Farah Fawcett, but as we were sitting there talking, painting, and listening to the radio, the announcement was made that Michael Jackson had colapsed and had been rushed to the hospital! A little while later it was reported he passed away. OM, what a shock!!! You know we didn't know these people personally, but because they lived their lives in the public eye we feel as if we knew them.

So Ken and I were sitting upstairs chillin and watching tv and all of the sudden Ken says "Ugh!!! The dog just threw up on me!!" Dex, had in fact, thrown up on the coach right by Kenadee. So close to Ken that it had rolled down and touched her leg. It was really nothing buy water and foam.....but it was enough to totally gross Kenadee out. She wanted me to run and get something to clean it up, but me, being the mean mother that I am, just sat there laughing. It was totally funny and more funny because Ken was freakin' out. I'm so mean, I laughed at her until it made her cry. I'm such a bad mom!!!

Baseball and More Baseball
Dad
What makes a dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

Yesterday was the first day that we let Dex run and play in the water. We waited until evening when the beach was pretty much empty and let him off his leash. He went CRAZY!! He ran in huge circles getting closer and closer to the water until he got brave enough to go in. Below are a few pictures of him in the water. Even Dex is having a blast on this family vacation, wish Butter could be with us........

So ken and i went and played in the water by ourselves this morning. No mishaps, all was great! Fast forward to this evening. When we guilted rodney into going out with us......well he, of course, ran into a jelly fish and got burned. I told him i would pee on him, (i heard that helps the burn), but he refused! Oh well, we'll try again tomorrow.
8th grade graduation was a bitter sweet moment for Ken. She is going to miss all the people she has grown to love from Morningside. She will be attending a different HS from all of her friends. Here are a few pictures of yesterdays events before we headed to the beach.
Nancy and Ken
Here she is with her cute self!!
Finally in the mood to pose and be cute!
So proud of her! More pictures to come later - Maybe a slide show on the side bar when I have time.
