Day After

I think our girl had a great day yesterday. We checked her out of school for lunch and took her to Fuzzy's Taco's. My parents came in for the day

and Rodney's dad surprised us and came to lunch too.

(We missed you Mamaw )

They were all supposed to surprise Kenadee, but both dad's and Rodney didn't get into the restaurant in time and Ken saw them on the street holding the big bunch of balloons.

(17 in total.....Grampy doesn't know how to do anything little. He said 16+one to grow on)

Any way lunch went really well and fast. Ken had to get back to school. Mom and I baked 41 cupcakes and frosted them the most wonderful colors. They were bright orange, neon green, purple, and hot pink.

Cupcakes
These are the orange ones. They were my favorite. (forgot the real camera so I had to use the cell phone.....)

The cupcakes went to church last night and were demolished!

SHE'S 16.........

After the long drive with no rest yesterday my dad laid down to rest for a bit.

Here's Rodney showing his love for him.....

She's 16 today.....I love her! She makes me proud All the time. I'm so blessed to have her as my daughter. There's nothing more rewarding than when another parent tells you how polite and wonderful your kid is......She's pretty amazing.

Stock Yards

Have mentioned before that I love this town I live in.....My town! I've lived here longer than I've lived anywhere ever. This is my town, where I'm now from. Being a military brat I get the option to choose where I'm from. I have roots in New York, family that I love dearly, but I'm yankee turned Texan.

Saturday I got to spend time at the Fort Worth Stock Yards for the very first time ever. I enjoyed my time with some of my favorite people. It was nice to be down there with Jamie, Jaycie, and Keni.

Who knew! This place was awesome and the weather was the greatest!

There is a cattle drive there twice a day - not a big one, just a few longhorns but they are amazing!

Yup, that's a dog standing on the ground, with a cat on his back, and a mouse on the cat back. Oddest thing ever!

Hope everyone had a great Valentines day.

After all the ice and snow we had last week, there was an impromptu sleep over at my house. Ken had a few friends over Friday night. Sleep overs always remind me of being a teenager in Holland......ahhh such fond memories! We went shopping for junk food (can't have a sleep over with out the junk food), the girls ate it all!! Wow, girls can eat, but they seemed to have fun.

I did want the week to go by with the Super Bowl in town and miss out on all that was going on(my dad would NOT have been happy), and I didn't want to take the 6 mile drive to Cowboys stadium because I wasn't sure how things would be over that way, so downtown Fort Worth it was(longest sentence ever!). ESPN was set up down there. There were a ton of people. Minimum wait at the restaurants was 2 hours. The Packer/Steeler freaks fans were out in force. Enjoy!

This next picture left me with many question.....Not sure why this was happening, but it was.......

020511_7345a
Yup, it's a guy riding a guy dressed as a horse, while the "horse" crawls through the streets. WEIRD!

This is Mel Renfro, Yup Dallas Cowboy hall of famer (I had no idea who he was, didn't even recognize the name). Apparently he's hot stuff.

While he was signing autographs a lady gave him a hard kiss on the cheek. I caught his wife saying "That woman just kissed my husband! She should keep her lips to herself!" I said "It must be hard being a professional atheletes wife!" She just nodded yes!

I'll leave you with a picture of a mural on a building in this beautiful city I call home.

This is Cow Town, and I love it!

P.S. Here's a picture of our street as it looks now.....no snow! I'm hearing rumors we've got more on the way tomorrow.

Snow, Snow, Snow

Looking at these pictures you'd think they were taken some where up north, but NOPE! This is go ol' Fort Worth Texas! We have been iced in all week and today we got snow fall. The snow fall today was beautiful. We went on a long walk and had some (3) random dogs follow us home. They were so cute, but we don't need extra dogs in our house, especially dogs that will be the same size as the 2 we already have. I'm such the mean mom, but I held firm to the NO though!

Random dogs that followed us home.....The white dog is Margaret. We now know where she lives.

The most random thing we saw was a deer head (or that's what it looked like to me) nailed to a tree of someone's yard. Very weird.....
