What a wonderful weekend! Time spent with friends is my favorite way to spend the weekend.  Yesterday it was summer fun in the sun swimming and hanging out and today it was skating and birthday party.  All if it was a blast.  Here's some pictures of today.

The movie stars!

The only silly thing ken would do!!!
]
Cameryn is always up for doing silly

But she takes a beautiful regular picture!

Babies all grown up!

Well my baby is growing up too fast.  She had her 8th grade formal yesterday.  It was Friday so she went to school as usual but she knew I'd be there to pick her up early so that we could start getting her ready.  I had to pick Cameryn up first cause Cam wanted to hang out with us while her mom was still at work.  Ken, bath, exfoliated, sprayed on tan, got make up done, hair done and nails glued on......her toes too!!!  Then we went to pick up Kenya and went to take pictures. We knocked on someones door to ask if we could take pictures in their yard.  I have past by this place for years and have always thought it was just a park but yesterday realized it was someones home.  It's an pretty amazing place with a pond, statues, and a covered bridge.  The dance was in a ballroom ahem, I mean school CAFETERIA!!!  I walked the girls inside and to Kens apparent pleasure ummm horror I walked into the cafeteria to take pictures of her and some of her friends.......The girls were at the dance until 10pm.  Ken said she DANCED!!!

Well what a nice lazy day spending time with the family.  We hung out and took naps and then went to Crawfish Palace to each crawfish!!! YUMMMM it was good!  I know right now Jamie is saying ewwww, but no, it was GGGRRREEAATT!  It's a hole in the wall restaurant that only sells beer on tap, all other drinks are in bottles or cans.  There is no air condition.  They basically only sell crawfish, shimp, catfish, and chicken fingers for those that don't eat sea food.  A good time was had by all!!!

Friends

Yesterday Kenadee and I went to watch Chey and Ash lose, I mean play, softball.  It was nice seeing those girls again.  I didn't realize how much I missed them until I saw them and their moms.  Tonia and Tiffany are a blast to talk too.  We'll need to get together sooner.

Spring (um, Summer) is here

It's almost summer and can you believe we haven't been to six flags yet......until yesterday.   We went and spent just a few hour riding a couple of rides.  It was actually a great day to go, almost no lines and after the rain on Saturday the weather was beautiful!!!  I tried to take a few pictures of us on rides, um as the rides were moving.........it was interesting.

State Championship

What a fabulous day!!!  It started at 530 am for me.  I was so excited for our 7th grade boys.   Earlier this week we played our area superbowl.  We were the underdogs, but managed to beat some Viper tail in a 12 to 7 victory.  This led to a State Championship game at Floyd Casey Stadium at Baylor Universary.  We were to play at 1230 today against the best select 7th grade team in Houston.  It was actually our select league against theirs.  Jamie met us at QT and we followed each other down to Waco.  It rained the entire way there and continued to rain and rain and rain.  The game before ours was delayed because of thunder and lightening.   Once the thunder and lightening stopped they continued the game before ours.  The Vipers were victorious against their Houston team.  We were next, and it continued to rain and rain and rain.  Our girls didn't get down on to the field in time for kick off.  By the time we made it to the field the score was 6 to 0 the other team was in the lead.  The girls were cold and wet, but they cheer those boys on to a 14 to 6 VICTORY!!!!  THE DFW TROJANS ARE THE SELECT LEAGUE 7TH GRADE STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!!  We are so proud of those boys and girls!!!!!

MOM

Dear Mom,
I don't think you realize what you mean to me.   You are my shoulder to lean on, my best friend, the person I know that will listen openly and give your honest opinion without judgement.   You are the strongest person I know.   I hope that I can be half the woman you are  and that my kid and I will have a relationship that is equal to the one you and I have.   I love you tremendously!!  Happy Mothers Day!

These boys played their hearts out yesterday and came away with a great victory.  They have worked hard all season long and we are all very proud of them.  The girls that cheer for these boys are also a hard working group and I will post their performance soon.  This video is of the boys after winning on Wednesday night.  They will be moving on to our area Super Bowl which will be played on Monday night.  Great job Tro-Jans!!!

I'm excited to say that Dad went to the doctor today to have the bone marrow tested and it came back normal for a person that has Leukemia! His white blood cell count has gone from 90,000 to 60,000 to 10,000! All glory and honor goes to the Lord!

Monday, May 4, 2009

A couple of weeks ago dad was re-diagnosed with Luekemia - He's a trooper and never complains and just seems to take things in stride.  Tomorrow he goes to have a bone marrow aspiration - I think that's what it's called - and the last time this dr. did it (11 years ago) he really hurt dad.  The dr says he's gotten better over the years, but who know's.  So if you think about it tomorrow, say a prayer that things go well for him.  We would totally appreciate that.  Thanks!

The next pictures are from the March of Dimes walk I did with Jamie.

I can't believe it's been nearly 2 months since I've blogged.

At the end of Feb Rodney and I camped out to get Kenadee into a good Fort Worth High School, (I think I blogged about that back then). We found out at the beginning of April that she is in. So mid April she decided that she might like to tryout for their dance team......well she made it! She is excited about having a group to belong to when she starts school in August. She's excited about camp and starting practices this summer. The truth is this will be great for her. It will give her daily exercise and she'll have a core group of girls she knows on the first day of school. She'll be part of something.

March held the start of select football. Kenadee is cheering and it's been tons of fun. There are 18 girls cheering for 2 teams. The girls age range is 6 to 14. They are a good group of girls. The teams are 4 and 5th graders playing 6th graders......needless to say that team isn't doing too well. They've only won 1 game. The second team is 7th graders and they are doing fabulous. They have lost one game.......they are currently in second place because of that lose!

The end of April has brought with it the swine flu scare........Fort Worth ISD has closed it's doors for 7 full school days. On one hand I believe they are probably over reacting, but on the other I believe I would be out raged if they didn't shut down and more kids became infected. We'll live through this, but I'm gonna have an extremely bored teenager on my hands.
