Music to my Soul

I've decided to change that channel......the radion channel that is! For years and years I've just listen to top 40 music and year after year it seems to get more disturbing. The other day I found myself humming along to a song, not really paying attention to the words, just mindlessly singing along and working. Those that really know me know that music (words to music) just stick with me. I have no memory for anything but words to music just stick.......anyway, I took a second to listen to what I was saying and I was APPALLED!!!!! Really, I think it was a new Rhianna song - I won't go into the words but wow, they can hide some crazy stuff with catchy music. I got to thinking about how we always have this music playing - as back ground music, not ever really paying attention to what's being said, but how it's filtering into our minds and the minds of our kids. So, I've decided to change the dial - something more positive is definitely needed.

In other news, lol, there isn't any other news......Well, Rodney is painting again....Kenadee's room is getting a new look. The black wall is done and he'll begin working on the 2 white walls. Furniture will all be painted balck.

Cheerleading

Oh cheerleading - I may give you up this year......It's normally this time of year that I begin to miss football and cheerleading. I've been missing football, but I'm not sure about cheerleading. Kenadee will be a junior this next year and I want to be free to blow and go to whatever school events there might be. Although I know she's staying home for college (at least to begin with) I want to enjoy her last 2 years of high school with her. She, however, does not want to give up cheerleading. She is a junior coach and loves being out at the football field ever other day and enjoys the kids. Cheerleading 2010 burned me out - it's hard work. I guess I don't have to make a decision just yet......

New Friendship

New friendship at any age is a beautiful thing. It's harder as an adult to make new friends, but I do love watching Kenadee bond with someone new.

We met Hannah through Melissa (whom we love very much). Hannah and Kenadee have become fast friends. Both Melissa and Hannah spent the night last night. Melissa left early so she didn't get to participate in our picture taking today. Maybe next time......

True Love Waits

Last night, at church, this group of teens committed to purity in the sight of God, their youth staff, and their parents.

(of course I missed Ken because I was up at the alter with her) each set of parents was asked if they committed to praying for their teen and each teen was asked if they committed to remaining pure. After that each teen received a ring placed on their left hand not to be removed until they marry. It was a beautiful ceremony. I was so glad Kenadee was able to participate.

We have been going to Sagamore for almost a year and I can't tell you how happy we are to be there. Kenadee looks forward to being at church. She has built some beautiful friendships. We have all just settled right in
