Hopes.....Dashed
Well my grandpa passed away today. Looks like we're leaving for NY tomorrow. I'm glad he's not suffering.....

Oh Friday......hurry
I'm ready for Friday. This has been a long week. My car is down.....well it needs breaks badly. I'm hoping that will do it. Rodney and I are sharing a car.
My granddad is still fighting. He has moments when he knows what's gong on but he is agitated. They are going to start feedings for him and continue to ween him off the vent. So, maybe no long trip after all......

Glimmer of hope.....Maybe??
My cousin told me late yesterday that my granddad was awake. She said he seemed very frustrated about something but he can't talk to voice what's wrong. They were trying to read his lips in hopes of being able to figure out the problem. He's a fighter, that's for sure!!! The plan is to remove him slowly from the vent. His lungs aren't good, but they are slightly better than they were Monday.
This is when things are hard. Family scattered all across the country. It's so hard to be where you're needed. My granddad, at this time, is in Florida. His kids are in New York, Virginia, Florida, and Louisiana. The grand kids are in Texas, Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Virginia and New York. See what I mean.....all over. I'm glad he's got Lizette, Uncle Bobby and Aunt Michelle there with him. I'm sure it's a comfort to him.
Thanks for the prayers and the words of encouragement.

Long Trip Near Future
I found out Sunday that my grandfather isn't doing well.....well, really what I found out was that he had passed away and then, he didn't. It was odd, but true. He was resusitated and is not doing well at this time. There is talk of removing the breathing tube today. We'll be headed to New York if he doesn't make it......
I haven't talked to my grandfather in a long time........I won't pretend to be close to him. I love him, but I've been pretty angry with him for the last few years. He is a hard person to know, but I do know he loves us grand kids. As an adult, I haven't spent much time with him, but I do have good childhood memories. I remember sitting in his room with him listening to him play his guitar. He loved the Benny Hill (I think that's what it's called)Show and I remember watching that craziness with him. He got a kick out of that show. I loved the smell of his pipe tobacco. I remember him playing his music loud enough in the house so he could sit outside on the cement slab talking and drinking with his friends. When my parents allowed him to, (and sometimes when they didn't) he would cut (buzz really) my brother Marc's hair and leave balled spots. He had birds in his room and when they would let him, he had animals (chickens and such) in his back yard. You'd of though he lived in the country not the suburbs. He is loud, opinionated, and stubborn but he's my grandpa.

Last Summer Weekend
This weekend buzzed by so fast......I was told one time this weekend, "It is not Sunday!" "How dare you try to rush my last days of summer by!" Yes, on Saturday, I thought school was the next day, but I was quickly corrected.
I just wanted an easy, stress free weekend. Mission accomplished. There was cheer practice Friday, and cheer camp, Saturday, oh how hot that was! I'm tired of this oppressive summer heat! Will it ever be fall?? I'm looking forward to cooler evenings, pumpkin patches, kids trick or treating in cute little costumes. Maybe......soon......PLEASE GOD!!!!
Here are a few pictures of my fall babies! They are so cute!

Aren't they cute!!!

Look at that form
Sunday was church and then we just hung out at home. Ken and I caught up on things we had recorded on DVR (what did we do before DVR?). I went to bed early, but couldn't sleep, so STILL I start Monday off TIRED!!! I love my schedule, so I won't complain too much.
Father, be with the kids and teachers today as they start back to school. I know there are kids out there starting new school because they've moved, or are entering high school, or junior high and they're very nervous. Calm their nerves. I pray every one has a smooth day, kids and teachers alike! Amen

*****Update***** Katy is home!!! Amy is busy getting her lined up for school, but she's happy to have all her kids in the same house! It's an amazing miracle! God is so good!
Lord, please go with Amy today as she enters that court house. Give her peace in the knowledge that ultimately you are in control. You are strong in her weakest moment and she is never alone. She'd like this situation settle today, give her the word she needs as she stands before the judge. Surround her with your presents and love. Amen
I hope that if you've stumbled on this blog by accident that you take a second to pray for Amy today. Thanks!

This weekend was just sad.....I found out someone I knew a long time ago, tried to take his life. I don't know why, or any circumstances surrounding the situations. I just know it grieves my heart that some one could feel so helpless. This is someone with kids, and parents that love him very much. We have talked a few times in the last year, but I can't say I know who's he's grown to be in the last 22 years. I'm hoping he can find the help he needs and pray his parents are able to get him home.
Went to church on Sunday, and what do you know, they were talking about relationships. Pastor spoke about how we, as christians should be in relationship with each other. It brought tears to my eyes several times during service because I have longed for that for so long. We haven't been faithful church goers. I'm ashamed to say we haven't stayed in a church long enough to form any relationships. I've always felt like the visitor. During this roller coaster church attendance Kenadee has missed out on being in a church youth group, and forming friendships in church. I grew up being excited to go to church. We were part of a small church when my parents became christians. That has a lot to do with being in Germany, but still we were a community that took care of each other. One of my strongest memories is having a high fever and all of the adults coming together to pray over me and annoint me with oil. I don't think my parents remember that, and maybe the memory isn't exactly accurate, but that is something that has stayed with me. When we were back in the states we were very involved in another church. I was excited to invite my friends to attend with me. This could be because I was a kid, and things as a kid are so much easier, I don't know. Honestly, I'm not sure what I'm trying to say, but I hope we stay at this church. I like this pastor and associate pastor. I think there's potential for Ken to become involved in youth and maybe form some friendships.

Well it's morning and back to the normal grind. I'm sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee and some tasty treat from pr.
Fall is around the corner, you can't tell with these temps but it's almost here. I went yesterday to pick up my cheerleading roster and decided while I was there "one team is not enough" so I picked up an extra team of girls! It will be fun, I've got lots of help and think the girls will have a blast cheering together. So officially I'm the head coach of the Senior Longhorns and Senior Cowboys.
Once our cheer meeting was over, Jamie and I met up with Amy to take pictures of the kids......not really a good outing this time around because we didn't have a ton of light, but we'll do it again soon. I'll get pictures posted once I get them off my camera.

Wonder Weekend
It was nice to spend some time at home with Mom and Dad. I always love the time I get to spend with them. Ken and I left Fort Worth about 1030 in the morning on Friday, stopped at Central market to pick up special hot dogs before heading out to Bossier. We arrived at about 3pm and of course, Mom had lunch ready. We enjoyed a bounty of Puerto Rican food, so yummy! David, Kellye, and Mallory came by Saturday for a lunch of fried rice and home made egg rolls. We went to a movie, got some school clothes shopping done and went back to spend the last hours of Saturday with mom. We decided we would leave early Sunday morning so that I could get back home for a photo field trip later that afternoon. That was the wonderful part of my weekend......it quickly turned sad Sunday afternoon.
We got home and Ken asked if she could go see Katy. My friend Amy had her daughter for the weekend and Ken loves that girl, so we decided we'd meet up with Amy and Jamie at the pool for a little while before our field trip. The kids swam and played for a while. Amy had to take Katy back to her step-mom at 4pm. They were to meet at a gas station, each of them is to go inside buy something and keep the receipt. While we were there Jamie and I both decided it was more important for one of us to go with Amy for this exchange, just to support her and keep her company. We decided we'd forgo our field trip so we could be there for Amy. Katy was desperate to stay longer and in fact called her stepmom to ask if she could stay for a couple more days. Let me just say, with no details, the short ride to QT was full of emotions and tears, and ended with Katy not being allowed to stay with her mom a couple of extra days......

Weekend away
Can't wait....only a few short hours I'll be on the road to see mom and dad. I haven't sent the weekend at home in a while. I'm looking forward to having the time with my parentals. Plans are to leave a little early from work to head out and I didn't want to go home to pick up Ken so I made her come to work with me this morning. She, crazy girl she is, decided she wouldn't sleep until she got to the work place. She is not sacked out in our conference room with Pall Blart Mall Cop playing in the back ground. Wish you could see her. She is spread out on the the conference room table. I tried to get a picture, but it's to dark back there and the camera wouldn't take the picture. She's a cutie!
I didn't blog, but last week we had Ken's nose pierced. I really thought she'd chicken out cause she's got a thing about needles, but she didn't. They poked that baby 8 times just to get the needle all the way through. I couldn't watch......I would have made them stop, but she stuck it out and she looks cute a can be with thing. We promptly went home after that and colored her hair pink and purple......what can I say she's the adventurous type. Pictures to come of that soon........

I went to a funeral this weekend.......An associate of mine from work lost her husband last week. She is one of the strongest woman I know. I'm not sure I could be as strong as she is, I aspire to be that strong.
Last week was just a funky week. I was in a funky mood for no good reason. Really emotional......went to the pool with Jamie, Amy, and the kids and told them right off...."I'm in a terrible mood!" I told Amy maybe I was having empathy depression because so many people around me are going through some pretty tough times. I'm sure this week will be better for me cause I get to see my parent! I'm ready to spend some time with them.
This post is seriously all over the place....but whatever, it just for me! We had a photography field trip yesterday. Jamie and I got to take sunset pictures. It started out discouraging because we didn't know what to do and the sun was so bright, but it all turned out ok. We ended up having a lot of fun.
